Winery
Chateau Rieussec is located in the Sauternes region of Bordeaux and it is famous for producing sweet white wine. The vineyards of Chateau Rieussec are located on the hills of Sauternes and Fargues villages, adjacent to Chateau d’Yquem.
Chateau Rieussec was listed as a first-class (1er cru classe) chateau in the Sauternes and Barsac classification in 1855, and became one of the properties of Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite in 1984. Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite built a new wine cellar and brewing workshop for it, the potential of Chateau Rieussec can be brought out even more fully with the addition of modern equipment for the grape screening and pressing room.
Wine
For sense of smell, there is a precise balance with minerality, attributed to the flavors blended by the new oak. On the palate, it is perfectly balanced with clear honey, brioche and pralines. This year 2011 is a very charming, sensual Chateau Rieussec, with hints of nougat and almonds lingering on the long finish. Gorgeous!

Wine Secret Comment: Chateau Rieussec presents a very sexy but elegant smell and flavor. It was a perfect match with a cheese platter and dry-aged ham. The first taste presents a very well-balanced honey, toast, and nuts flavor with nice almonds and ginger long finishing. The long-lasting flavors in mouth have made it a wonderful experience.
